Check out this super clean Gen 1 4runner. What do you think this would go for in the PNW?

That’s probably around the same CP price it’d fetch in places without rust.

CP. 1986 and onward had IFS and don’t go for nearly as much as the earlier ones. 1985 and earlier were solid front axles, 1985 being the most valuable with a solid front and a 22-RE with fuel injection.

Ah I didn’t know there was a big difference within the generation. And a shame cause what a funky looking fun car.

It’s tricky. Normally yes, I’d say CP. But when you look at the shitboxes that go for $5-6k with serious rust in the rear quarters, how much $$ are you talking to get one of those into this type of condition.
Those that are searching for the SFA 4Runners don’t care as much about the pristine body, they want SFA for off-road and willing to deal with some bumps and bruises on the bodywork. Then there are those that just want a cool older Toyota that don’t care about the SFA and just like how it looks.
That said, t here was a super clean one here in CO (a later one with IFS) that stagnated on CL for months that had just over 100k on it and not a lick of rust anywhere. That one was also listed for $9500, not sure if it sold or the owner gave up. I bet if this one was at $7500, it’d be gone quickly.

IFS is just a SAS away if you want to get serious about crawling and don’t really plan on a daily.

It's a NP if you just park it and flip it on BaT in two years.
